On Life Changes

I totally admire those women who dive into the online world and keep pushing through, even when life throws them curveballs. Lately, I’ve had a rollercoaster of experiences, so I’ll try to give you the abbreviated version…

Let’s see…where have I been?

2021:

I got engaged to my best friend!

2022:

Good:

Two became one! We got married in November! It was a beautiful elopement with our closest family members present at a cabin in North Georgia. We did everything ourselves: catered breakfast, hair, makeup, you name it. We didn’t have a bridal party or groomsmen. It was a small gathering and it was one of the best days of my life.

2023:

Bad:

The year began with the loss of my grandmother. Shortly after, my father received a diagnosis of brain cancer. To add to the sorrow, our beloved second oldest dog, Diana, passed away at home. Amidst these challenges, I struggled with the stress of ensuring a healthy pregnancy. It was an incredibly difficult year.

Good:

Two became three! We welcomed our daughter, Amelia! I’ll try to share my pregnancy and birth story soon but it was a wild ride.

Dad’s brain tumor went away after chemo and stem cell therapy.

2024:

Good:

Our little one just hit the 6-month milestone! She’s just incredible. Already saying “Dadda” and “Momma,” rolling around everywhere, and absolutely loving her food! I couldn’t be prouder.

Anyway, that’s what’s happened recently, in a nutshell.

I’ve been MIA because, you know, being a mom is a crazy busy gig. Trying to balance full-time work with this whole mom thing is like juggling and acrobatics combined. On top of that, I’m still in the breastfeeding/pumping game, so yeah, those late-night parties are still happening. I can’t remember the last time I slept a solid 8 hours – it’s been way back in July 2023, haha!

I’m going to try and write consistently here more often so I’ll be in touch soon!
