Journal Entry
A perfect working-from-home outfit of the day! Talk about comfortable! I did have to run a quick errand to drop off one of our cars at the shop and it has been a long journey with getting it repaired. The real ones know.
Anyway, I was going to head out before my mom (who works from home) so that she could time her lunch break and I would get a chance to review things with the mechanic and let them know what’s going on with the car without having to rush back for her schedule. So… I had a few work tasks to do before I hit the road and then had to use the bathroom.
As I entered the bathroom, I heard my mom yell “Who is there?!” I yelled back “Me!” and before I knew it, I opened the bathroom door to find her standing there with a 5lb hand weight for exercising in the most threatening stance I’ve ever seen her in! She thought I had already left for the car shop and that I was a house invader.
Ummm….ok?! But wait a sec!
What’s funny is that we also have two dogs. Logically, they would have alerted her to anything -or anyone- trying to get even close to the house…because that’s what they do all day, every day. An actual cat doesn’t walk past our house without us knowing about it. Trust me.
She reassured me that if someone ever did come in the house, there would be two people injured: her and the invader…because she isn’t going down without a fight. I was like “count me in too!” Lol!
After we both calmed down and had a few laughs, I left for the mechanic.
While I waited outdoors for my mom to come to pick me up with our other car so I wouldn’t be stranded, I accidentally stood in a pile of ants! I got attacked a few times and would not recommend it… but it’s all good. Sadly, this is now the first time this has happened. When I was much younger, I stepped in an actual ant hill. I had over 50 bites so this felt like a walk in the park today!
Afterwards, my mom and I had lunch at Arby’s and we tried their strawberry lemonade! It was pretty refreshing!
We’re hoping to hear some good news regarding our car this week. It’s felt like an uphill battle trying to get the check engine light to go away and for the car to run well. We shall see what happens! God is good always and regardless.
OOTD
My OOTD (outfit of the day for those who don’t know!) was super comfy and casual. I’ve definitely told myself in the past while I was taking summer clothes down from storage in the attic that I wasn’t going to wear black in the summer and I’ve definitely now broken this rule! Oh well! Comfort first. Some of these items were bought a minute ago so I resorted to finding them on Amazon.
Hat: I got this one at Walmart a while ago but I found a super similar one!
Shirt: Superman logo. Tons of options on Amazon!
Fanny Pack: So the original brand is Tan-Sac Sport (this one used to be my mom’s!) but I found a version on Amazon! Sidebar: I could write an entire post on why fanny packs are the best kind of purse! They are so versatile and comfortable to wear. I find them so much more useful than standard handbags!
Joggers: These joggers are great! It has pockets and it’s made of a super soft material that doesn’t attract dog/cat hair! I got these at Burlington so no direct link but I did find a close match!
Shoes: I got these at Walmart! They are currently on clearance for only $9! As I mentioned, a couple of hours ago, I accidentally stood in an ant pile with them so they are pretty durable. Not ant-proof… but durable. Haha. They also come in a ton of colors! I wasn’t able to find the link for them on Walmart but found a similar pair on Amazon.
